Don't blame drivers for fare increase

SINCE the taxi fares and tariff changes this month, there have been many complaints from customers using taxis. I would urge people to keep in mind that it is not the drivers who put the fares up, it is Cheshire West and Cheshire Council.

I had one female customer travelling from DB’s music bar to Saxons who complained bitterly about the fares and tariff. Even though I pointed out that it was not the drivers who are responsible for pricing she was quite rude and called drivers rip-offs.

People also need to remember that Tariff 2 is now from 11pm and not 11.30pm. This change was also brought in by the council.

If people want to rant and complain about taxi fares please take your objections to the right people, CWAC, and not the taxi drivers!

It may well be that the drivers don't put the fares up but customers have to realise that costs for the drivers have increased, do they think it's ok that drives costs go up but fares don't. It's going to happen eventually

The Taxi Trade, up and down the country is getting fecked over by the Government along with everyone else, what don't you get toots?

If people have no money, how does a tariff hike make any difference? Oh I know, those who can afford a taxi, will spend more, maybe in your dream toots. The next 2-3 years will put a lot of guys out the box, and trust me toots, the tariff, regardless of what it is, won't make a blind bit of a difference.

Customers realise Toots, and that's why they take their custom elsewhere. :-|

It's not worth much Chris.

I know how you lot, like to live in a dream world, carry on.

Quote:
Despite the formal definitions above, disposable income is commonly used to denote Discretionary income. The meaning should therefore, be interpreted from context. Commonly, disposable income is the amount of "play money" left to spend or save. The Consumer Leverage Ratio is the expression of the ratio of Total Household Debt to Disposable Income.

My prediction is that, by the end of 2011, the pips will be squeaking.

Oh now I remember, this thread was about a tariff rise.

Do people think Edinburgh should retain a cap or de-restrict taxi numbers? :D
