Kirkby cab driver’s license is revoked after burglary caution comes to light

Aug 28 2010 Liverpool Echo

A taxi driver has had his licence revoked after failing to admit he had a caution for burglary.

Neil White, 41, of Chesterfield Drive, Kirkby, appeared before West Lancashire Borough council’s Licensing and Appeals Committee in July 2009 after failing to tell them about a caution for burglary and convictions for other offences between 2003 and 2008.

The committee revoked his licence but he appealed and Ormskirk Magistrates ruled his licence should not have been revoked.

This week Preston crown court upheld the original decision and ordered him to pay £500.

Cllr Andrew Fowler said: “A taxi driver employs a position of great trust. If they take a passenger out for the evening or to the airport, they will know when their house is empty, making it easier to burgle.”

Only sh** police forces, or lazy officers, give cautions for burglary.

And those that do should be ashamed and sacked.

I thought all scousers had cautions for burglary its a right of passage up their isn't it

Seriously though if he had declared it I'm sure he would have kept his badge there are plenty of drivers out there with far more serious offences on their CRB
