Hi guys. I have taken a liberty by using this thread. JD (Graham) was a pal of mine since 1978 when we both worked Salford. His last great result was when he had the PH touts removed from the printworks Manchester. However it was to no avail. This week 16 Sep 2010 Manchester council announced they have licensed a private hire operators license inside the printworks. The office facility has no parking spaces, there are no parking spaces in the area around. The only people to blame in this instance are the Hackney trade. Wherever you are in the country, a designated member or members should check planning applications. When planning permission HAS been granted it is already to late. I cannot help but think if Graham was alive something might have been done to prevent this.

Maybe if more drivers concentrated on issues, other than plate premiums, then things like this wouldn't be allowed to happen.

Sussex. You are absolutely right. Every Union or association should have one volunteer or officer checking new planning applications. When one appears that conflicts with your business, complain straight away and canvas support from wherever possible.

Maybe if the taxi trade concentrated full stop.

This aint a plate issue thing, but I take your point, many areas that are deregulated have similar things going on, and little interest till the sh*t hits the fan.
