I have been looking at Despatch Systems for my office and two friends who are also operators. The one thing we have found in common about the salemen, in all their sales patter, they always have a story about a rival system being junked by an operator but they can never tell you who the operators are.

Apart form numerous reports of Mercury Strip outs , has anyone heard of removal of Cabmaster,Cordic or Datamaster systems from Operators?

Mercury strip outs are true as for the others I think they stick to their words.

Datamaster is a solid unit I used their Data witn no problems at all.

I've switched to a firm on Autocab as my previous firm seem hell bent on keeping Mercury.
Autocab runs well.
Used datamaster without problems too

Thanks to our fan club for the nice comments but you need to go easy on the salesmen, they need to get your business to keep food on the table for their starving kids.

Companies do change but finding the real reason why isn't always easy. We don’t loose too many but when we do, there’s usually some kind of radical change like a merger or new owner with an existing system. Whatever the reason, the salesmen have to capitalise on it because that’s their job and if that means bending the truth a bit then for them it’s not an issue.

I was in a company recently where the owner showed me an email claiming companies were leaving Datamaster in droves for their system but they couldn’t give us a single example. In another instance I rang a rival company and was passed by mistake to a salesman. He told me how he personally converts at least one customer a week from Datamaster and that Datamaster was going bust anyway.

Only a fool would believe what a salesman tells them in this trade that’s why we don’t use them!
