The public transport network from St Andrews to Edinburgh Airport or the other way around is not viable early in the morning or after 10:30pm as there is no public transport that gets you to edinburgh airport for a 6 am flight and if you come off the plane around 10:30pm there is not enough time to get to waverly and get the last train to st andrews.

Did you never think to tell your passenger to bus it down the night before and stay in a local hotel and let Edinburgh's finest take them out to the airport and still be quids in?
No I thought not.

We only charge £50 to or from Galashiels, I think you lot charge around £95 for the same run, could even be more???

Too cheap. Three hours labour plus fuel. That's gotta be thirty quid too cheap. I'd rather not do the job than charge so low.

The drop off charge is just a further insult. The airport should be grateful we're taking their customers to them.

Imagine any other business charging customers to get into their premises.

So, how do the airport management get away with it?

Because saps like cabbies allow them to.

I don't do airport runs.

Let's hear it for Dick Turpin

BAA are just installing barriers at the entrance to the drop off area at Southampton.....

Won't be long before we join Edinburgh!!!

Having said that, at the moment there are a few stopping places which wouldn't affect passengers walking distance too much so we may yet have some fun!!

If this Goverment was'nt so soft and half its Members being board members to British business's, they would tell BAA to go sling their hook and to not penalise the very customers that they rely on.

It fechin annoys me that MP's get involved in all manners of Loony Green Causes, Idiotic Foreign aid, wacky Diversity & Equality matters, Easy-oosy mass immigration views and almost everything else except for looking after the real needs and anxieties of the people that voted for them....

Its no wonder we have slipped to 26th in the world quality of life ladder.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1326712/UK-tumbles-quality-life-league-table-lags-Greece.html

Its almost as if big business and government go out of their way to Screw us in every way conceivably possible...Its only a Quid but its another small Screw being slowly inserted into the very soul and heart of the British people.

Why is the cost not being passed to the customer?

I heard from the Yellow pearls themselves that no one can stop you picking up in the new drop off zone as no one in control there has the power to issue a fine or a parking ticket, all they can do is try and dissuade you picking up...

Sadly most of my Foreign clients are organised through local hotels and they are seldom given my Mobile number to assist with an easy pick-up...that said, I charge extra for a meet and greet so really im quids in even allowing for Parking or pick up charges.... :D

Why would anyone want to dissuade you from picking up? The airports own leaflet says
"Our new drop off facility, located on the ground floor of our multi-storey car park, costs drivers £1 for 10 minutes* to drop off or collect passengers."

I don't do a lot of airport drop offs, but I can't wait to knock them back.

I just hope its raining, there's no cabs around, the punters got time pressures and they are literate and angry enough to complain.

If possi ble, please can I have a politician or a captain of industry

If they miss their flight, well that would be too much to hope for.

BTW This is what is necessary because the numpties in the trade refuse to do anything about this.

Perhaps because the two scumbag taxi companies - City Scum and Central scum - not only agree with the charge, it helps them rip off their own members.

Members can pay the extra for the Forward Travel scam and drop off free, or they can remain second class members.

You reading this Dougie?

Imagine what fatman Murray and the Dodester will be able to get up to when they've suckered the memberships with merger

BAA introduced the permit idea for the taxi rank - if city and crt didnt work together and pick it up then im sure the PH wouldve got the tender to work the rank and no black cabs wouldve been at the aiprort except for contract work to pick up
