Do you pay much attention to the state of the buses.....or the length of time it takes them (VOSA) to deal with complaints?

Id rather have the Flexibility brought about through local authorities than the rigidity brought about by large scale government bodies...Ive had dealings with Vosa and they really dont give a hoot or apply their own rules.

I'm more interested in a uniform standard for the whole country.

And don't forget that if VOSA was in charge, licence fees would be going to them not councils & those funds would fund man-power increases within VOSA so they could cope.

Would that be the uniform standard skippy and bloodnock have.....or the uniform standard I have, or the uniform one sussex has?

You presume an awful lot about VOSA

None of the above!!

I suppose I'll have to spell it out for you!

Uniform as in . . . . . not being subject to the same pressure from PH & HC drivers lobbying their councillors (who might be from the same ancestral village in a previous colony) to change council policy or decisions because the drivers don't like them & the councillor might lose his seat next election if he does not step up to the plate.

That's what I meant by uniform!!!

FFs..........why have change just for the sake of it, what we have is not perfect..but for sure throwing millions of ££££££ more at it in order to to create another Goverment cash Cow will not make it any better, it will just increase beaurocracy and create more uneeded jobs for a 1,000 faceless Jobsworths and another 1000 unaffordable gold plated pension pots.

Why change that which works and put it into the Hands of VOSA that would regulate it into something that would be unworkable, it would go the way of PSV licensing....Capped Driving hours, CPC training, Special licences..in short it would make the job non viable due to increased overheads. Once these guys have it up and running they have to fill their "Nothing else to do" time with something, and that something like in all goverment bodies is mischief making and even more regulations...

Nahhh...........best leave it as it is.

Why not try and force the government to issue a set of rules that all councils must abide by, without adding or making up there own ones, and a set licence fee.
I know councils are meant to stick by the alleged rules, but they start charging more for this and that, demand that only one type of vehicles or colour and so on
