What you don't realiase is that these so called volunteers get paid from leaving their home to returning to their home.

Pretty certain most do realise they get paid from home, and also pretty sure this is a big f*** off scam that is doing a large amount of damage to the taxi/PH trade.

if you feel able then go and take on every council and ambulance service in the UK....

Maybe someone should point out this scam to the Transport Committee.

They did ask for other safety issues.

Ive tried for ages to get the Local Council, MPs and MEP's to take an interest in the Volunteer scammers...every one of them passes the buck about as to who should be responsible for dealing with it and Bugger all ever happens.....As soon as you mention the words "Volunteer Driver" or " Community Transport" they treat you like a rebel rousing heathen...It really fecks me right off.

the "community" transport (at least the ones with thier own vehicles) are funded by the County councils (usually) and they make a good publicity item, you wont get that stopped, remember the old adage

"if you cant beat em.....join em"

if you do a "taxi/PH" job, say an airport 50 miles at £60 (not unusual round here, and some are charging £1 PLM) how close is that to 40p "RTM" (i.e. for every mile there and back.....)

i dont care where or how my money comes in from, so long as it comes

i did 4 years with 2 ambulance services as a "volunteer" (albeit with a plate), it helped me never to need to rent a radio and keep my independence with that and some rank work, and even some parcel deliveries

every holes a goal
