Scenario, you drop off at Gatwick someone sees your car and wants to travel back to your area. He phones your base number and books who gets the job you or one coming up from your base coz he's next in the queue?

You will if your office knows you are there.

But it's one thing being the only car within 50 miles, and another being the only car within 50 yards.

Why does first in turn come into it, surely nearest car is just as good if not better

I imagine most firms operate a list system rather than a nearest system.

But as long as the job is despatched in the normal way IMO it doesn't matter which system a firm uses.

But if they operate the nearest system, which I happen to believe is a sh** one, then they are more open to a charge of plying.

We operate the same as most on the sat systems like auriga and that is first in a particular zone. I was just being curious as to whether they could not say they gave the job to the nearest car at that time
