Are there any Basingstoke drivers here??? It seems we in the Dover council area have inherited a council official from Basingstoke council.
He is responsible for the three year age limit on all vehicles and bringing in the DSA test  . We re-named him Plebber but his real name sounds like furniture polish!!!! Has anyone got any back ground on him why he left Basingstoke council???? We'd like to get rid of him as well :D

I heard he was a decent bloke, by all account the lads in Basingstoke gave him a fine send off. They even paid his removal costs for him.

You could send him to my manor if you want

Is the test for existing drivers or just new ones? I would welcome the DSA test in my manor, since it would get rid of some of the...err...more frivilous drivers.

What is the age rule precisely? If you run saloons then three years on doesn't seem to bad - some in the country are being forced to put brand new WAVs on, but this seems to be to keep saloon drivers happy

Oldham and a suburban London driver.

Well, at least the two of you are inconsistent :D

Here's some information, which may or may not help you narrow things down very slightly, although I'm not really sure why you seem to be so worried about where I am:

1 I've been to the Sandown exhibition, but not Telford (or Donnington).

2 Of some of the major locations discussed on here lately - Liverpool, Manchester, Halifax, Gateshead, Brighton, Plymouth - the only one I've visited in the last year or so is Brighton.

3 When I went to Sandown the journey took about an hour.

4 It's not London :-k
