At 10.40 PM last night the roads where totally black as there was no snow at all, by 11.30 we had 4 inches
It caught all the cabs out except me as I do the sensible thing and fit winter tyres at the start of November
What a night though phone lit up like a Christmas tree most of the night as I was the only cab running I was telling folk half an hour or more but they waited

You could use these if you wish they retail at around £50 a set and come in all sizes and could get you out of most situations
They even fit LTI cabs

2-3 inches here overnight, no falling snow since, roads fine inc cannock chase

Wasnt fun last night, we had a car written off by a young kid in a Fiat who'd only passed his test on Thursday.

The dime bar was diong hand brake turns on a side road when all of a sudden he couldn't stop the spin and went out onto the main road where he was T Boned by one of our motors.

The motors a total write off.

Kids and powerful machines don't go together.

the words "Fiat" and "powerful" and "new driver" dont sit together well, given insurance on a T reg 1.2 punto 60s is £2500 (lump sum)

assuming he WAS insured?

No snow here last night. just REALLY cold

and our 18 year old lad (passed test april) works nights and drives back at 5am....

we lie awake listening for him but dont let him know....

A named driver on his mothers policy.

My19 year old daughter had an unexplained crash a month ago on her way to work at the local hospital, in her ford fiesta.
She was driving along a strait section of road when the car suddenly moved to the centre and then did a sharp left turn and took a lamp post out car totaled but thank god she is OK she had seat belt bruising and a small bum on the side of her head
A paramedic was behind her on his way to the same hospital and made sure she was OK and got an ambulance to take her to the hospital
And even though it should not have happened she was lucky the council changed the lamp posts 2 years ago from the solid ones to the collapsible ones as he reckoned she hit it at 50 MPH

10"s of level snow here today with more to come.......roads are shi*te to drive on even with my brand new winter tyres on, side roads are worse than the main roads due in part to the Council snow ploughs leaving 2ft shunted wedges of ploughed snow strategically placed at ever side road junction...

ahhhhhh..the Joys of rural driving..

Is that why the they changed all the lamposts along the Melrose bypass......heres me thinking it was because of a EU directive that said the old ones were 2 meters to far apart for some EU directive or such like.

Amazing how things vary from house to house! The daughter went down to the local shop in 1994 to get me an evening paper, I gave her a fiver and I am still waiting for the change Do you think that she is taking advantage of me, or am I just being impatient

oh dont worry, hes repaying me the loaned amount but hes had de-icer, anti-freeze, bulbs and other bits ill never see the money off, hes got access to the "man cupboard" (screen wash, oil, etc) and he always needs change for the vending machine at work, i reckon £3 a night x 5 nights a week, and hes on £8.50/hour....

i bet im losing overall

he gave me a hoodie he bought and never wore, later he asked for the £10 it cost him.....
