Due to the bad weather, one of my drivers was having a bit of trouble taking the school run children home. He was over an hour late dropping the last one home. All the kids on his run live well off the beaten track so when he had got as far as he could he parked the car and walked each child to their door. The last child lived at the bottom of quite a long hill with no chance of getting back up again so he again walked the girl to her door. I considered the drivers actions to be above and beyond the call of duty. The father of the last girl rang me up to complain that his daughter was late because my driver hadn't a clue what he was doing. :x

Is it unreasonable to expect some respect and a little appreciation? While putting oneself and your vehicle at risk to do the job, for what really amounts to a pittance?

Not only do these a*sholes show no shame. They try to defend the indefensible.

What a feckin' society  :x

This may be the only time I say this but yes, I agree with you here. Mind you the driver is employed by me and is on an hourly rate so the only loser here on the money side is me, but it is worth it for the safety of the kids.

Got stuck in snow out in the middle of nowhere this afternoon, when along comes a farmer in the worlds biggest yank tank 4x4. He hitches me up, drags me out of the snowdrift, and then tows me four miles to the main road, and flatly refuses any kind of payment. I'd still be there if it wasn't for this guy. Good neighbourliness is alive and well in Lincolnshire, lots of drivers stopping today to help those in difficulties, including me.

most people in my area seem to be helping each other out more and more.
its like a rescue operation
wheels spin and ppl come out of there houses trumpton style! spades in hand.
feecking marvelous sight
we've had around 16 inches its a nightmare.
not a sign of a gritter for 3 days but we're all still getting on with it.

i thought this sort of community spirit had long gone.

Aw right Old Niddrie Timer ONT rule

I was born in a house in Craigmillar, i was a youth worker in Craigmillar, i helped run football teams in Craigmillar, my family had business in Craigmillar, my old man helps teach art and music to the disabled in craigmillar (Art centre at fort kinnaird)

If you know the History of Craigmillar there is a lot to be Proud of, there is good and bad everywhere, and as you said yourself there still is a community spirit within, read Skulls post again, where is there community spirit that in my opinion compete's with craigmillar, yes there is alway's going to be the bad side but that is a social problem that is a blight throughout scotland.

Ali be Proud of where you come from, us good people ignore the bad and just strive to highlight the good

Dougie your passion is admirable

but its what I've said before this ain't a fitba match.

if you could engage your brain, and keep your emotions out of it you would see who the real enemy is.

but it wont happen.
you and 95% of the uk are victims of poor and deliberately engineered education, that is designed to keep you this way.

ignorant and fearful.

easily controlled commodities .

Tell me Dougie. You're a complete d*khead and you cumfae Craigmillar.

Should we all believe therefore that all people from Craigmillar are d*kheads?

Or can we at least agree that it is only you, and that the rest are Jock Tamson's bairns just like Ali T the Skull and I
