There is a company in my town that use octavias. They all sound terrible and the drivers do nothing but complain about them. Mind you I am told that maintenance is not the best at that company.

If you don't drop the oil every 10,000 miles and use crap diesel they will sound like a bag of swingers.

A lad has got one round our way that's done over 300,000 on a W reg, it gets serviced every 10,000 miles with good oil and only uses decent diesel, it sounds OK and still passes it's Council test every 6 months.

I didn't say that it was the engine that was making the noise did I. It sounds like the clutch is having a fight with the gearbox and no one knows who will win. They have 3 that sound similar.

I've never seen an estelle taxi, but one company through our way ran Lada Rivas for a while. When the council changed the cc to 1600 (in the conditions) they were considering Samaras, as their next fleet car. In the end they went for Citreon BXs, or French Ladas as they soon were dubbed.
