Taxi Driver Online

Well tonight all the Peterborough taxis are on strike ( no firms accepting bookings) in protest at the English Defense League having been allowed to march through the city still musn't grumble all those nice burgers from said borough will have to come to Stamford for a night out just have to be careful which districts I'm accepting bookings from as long as they don't live near the city centre

Is that a good reason for a strike?

Will that lead to the gov banning marches from the EDL?

Or will it lead to more marches?

No idea but knowing some of the muslim community in Peterborough they are extremely sensitive to anything they see as potentially racist i.e. anti muslim and I think the consensus is that they don't want to be picking up members of the EDL who are staying on after the march for a few beers

Peterborough city centre is dead tonight Stamford is buzzing so loads of money going into the pockets of local drivers most of whom are peterborough muslims who will probably share with their relatives on strike in Peterborough

The big losers will probably be the pubs and nightclubs in Peterborough who will probably petition the police and councils not to let a march happen again so they will win in the end

But for tonight my drivers are having their best saturday night for over 3 years !

So what happened three years ago to make that night so good then?

Ahhh didums the poor Asian drivers are distressed at the thoughts of transporting the EDL about?? I bet the English Drivers (if there are any in Peterborough) cleaned up on Saturday night.

If they don't want to pick up members of the EDL then I don't blame them.

I'm not sure I would be that happy to pick up some of the idiots that ran riot in London last week.

However I'm not convinced a strike is the best way forward.

No all the trade in peterborough is muslim owned and there are less than 1% non asian drivers they are good at sharing with other asian s but non asian drivers generally get shafted
