Point out these vehicles are tested at least once a week by different councils sometimes more

No point of having a tantrum and tears are not very becoming from a gent. I'd do crying but perhaps you should try pleading to their perceived intelligence and authority

Explain the situation and ask if you can have the first cancellation.
Then try emotional blackmail ( wife and 15 kids looking at a miserable xmas sort of thing :-({|= )
If that don't work, then try the tears and tantrums.

The taxi association down here have managed to persuade the L.A to allow us to take an M.O.T at any M.O.T station within the City.

They were charging us £60 for the test and a waiting list to get the test done as long as your arm.

Result..............cheaper tests and book to suit yourself with no delays.

My wife and kids loved looking through the lounge windows last christmas, till the neighbours told em to go home as they must be getting cold outside...

Just got the car '57 plate Octavia TDI (new shape) in black. Had reply from LO, and he through the fleet services manager has arranged for the tester to come in on Sat morning to test the vehicle. This was the earliest possible time due to staff shortage and number of tests already booked. I have to say I'm pleased at all help given, here and by my LA. Hopefully I can get some sort of Xmas Bonus after all. Thank You.

Well done, Grumpy. Still not ideal but at least you'll get some time in.

You could have the Skoda ( dam good car if I say so myself) :D for a while due to all the bumps that have happened when the snow was here, the repair shops are stowed out.

Yip meter set to Falkirk tariff, same model as mine, so no head scratching when trying to work it,

It's an ambient, mine's is just a classic, so they can take as long as they like

Latest update: 3rd party insurers phoned offering to do repairs, provide replacement vehicle and pay my excess. No need to go through my insurance at all. Do you think they are maybe accepting liability?  Put it back into the hands of my broker, they should be better placed to decide what's best. (for me, that is)
