Maybe a better solution to cutting down emissions would be to get the illegal minicabs of the road in london! That would be to easy though

Who's paying for that?

The Government.

It won't be the drivers paying for it that's for sure.

The two MOT's a year are a welcome change from SGS.

I can go to my local garage which is two minutes down the road, opposed to trekking into London.

The driving courses are to be introduced for new taxi drivers from 2011, the costs will be taken from the licensing fees.

The 15 year age limit will affect around 1500 taxis, so that gives them a year to sort things out.

There’s no shortage of second hand taxis around the 3/4/5 year age bracket.

A spoken and written English test is being brought in for Minicab drivers, so their industry will collapse and disappear overnight.

Funny thing is the 1500 that will be culled, produce less CO2 than a TX4 or Mercedes.

Oh hang on, we're back to particulates now are we ? So the over expensive emission systems Ken insisted on fitting are to be scrapped.

Lest we forget, these are the vehicles/engines we are given to drive. We were not given a choice. triple:

Maybe london is big enough to challenge this but think its a hard fight to win. What about all the money that was spent on the emisions systems for cabs ? All those 20 pence that were added on the meter to pay for it.Unfortunately most places up and down the country have adopted this but hope it can be challenged and won !
