Don't forget the weeks £1000 plus loss of earnings, due to the Chriastmes rush, and phone calls

Then wonder why taxi insurance costs so much.

True, but I am losing by sitting here instead of in my car. so do I write that off? I don't want/need to be on a holiday right now. I need cash.

It wasn't a jibe at your good-self.

My cab should be off the road this week, for one week for accident repairs.

My solicitors have promised me a replacement cab, they told me after I kicked up a fuss, that they will be hiring me one at a cost of £120 per day, (the other parties insurance will be paying so why should it bother me?).

Which is nice, £120 per day. I mean I earn £120 per day every day and the 5 days I'm off work will cost someone £600. This is even more galling due to the fact I can hire a cab locally for 1 week at a cost of £200.

In other words the whole thing is a racket, and a racket which ultimately costs the entire cab trade money.

I suppose I should add I have been phoned 3 times by solicitors asking if I have any injuries........this again is another racket.

It makes me laugh when people such as Skippy seem to think people who have accidents are onto winners, especially non fault, because Skippy then tells us his insurance is the cheapest we've ever heard of.

Personally, I think the whole system stinks, its a money making racket and I'd rather hire a cab.

No slant on your good-self was intended, and this jibe is just a way of blowing off steam.

not a problem cap. funnily enough I agree. even tho' I'm using the system for my own benefit, it's a money spinner that I'll contribute to for years.

ahem, if i may....

when i asked why my insurance had gone UP despite MORE no claims bonus this year the answer was "due to more crash fore cash claims"

not "theres been a lot of taxi crashes", its got bugger all to do with taxi/PH being high risk, its sheer greed by the companies

lets have a look at Tradex's annual profits should we?

(they seem to be the biggest policy provider)

Quote:
Claims to insure 20% of London's black cabs

Quote:
Tradex provides insurance for small businesses in the motor industry, and claims that 20% of London's black cabs are covered by its policies. Founded in 1995 by Roy Clegg, Tradex is based in London and has six other offices, stretching from Edinburgh to the Channel Islands. Its profits have grown 68% a year from £922,000 in 2000 to £4.4m in 2003

I've just re-read my post above and would like to post a disclaimer. I am not looking for cash I'm not entitled to claim. Loss of earnings potential or otherwise is subjective. If an offer of reasonable magnitude is made then I would be daft not to accept. I'm not abusing the system, nor did I wish to imply that I might.

Just got the car '57 plate Octavia TDI (new shape) in black. Had reply from LO, and he through the fleet services manager has arranged for the tester to come in on Sat morning to test the vehicle. This was the earliest possible time due to staff shortage and number of tests already booked. I have to say I'm pleased at all help given, here and by my LA. Hopefully I can get some sort of Xmas Bonus after all. Thank You.

Did you cry like girl

No, no need. (besides you told me not to)

I just asked him to help me by forwarding my case to the head honcho at the testing station. The rest was down to whatever he said.
