I wont do any more tit for tat you oviously idolise maggie ! We all have our kinks ... But as for a ex miner thinking she was good for you, even im flabbergasted rather you than me.

I think maggie was a good PM, far better than most of the others, ive never liked Labour especially Blair, he gave me the creeps

Not all miners have to be 100% labour devotees, many bought thier council/coal board housing and shares in BT and British gas, some even now work for themselves, hell some are even taxi drivers!

I didnt like either of them.

In reality whoever is PM doesnt change the old saying "you can please some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time"

Each goverment will do it thier way, Red or Blue, but once elected its thier RIGHT (as duly elected) to rule, a minority (students, miners, any union) may have the right to protest, they do not have the right to riot

Union leaders have neither the member base nor legal right to unsanctioned strikes they used to have...............shame innit

Yes and it should be our right for them to stick to their promises. But never underestimate the power of the people even without unions which coincidentally are still there thank f£ck.

That is not always possible. Sometimes you need to be realistic. It is ok to "promise" things but you need be able to react to changes in circumstances, such as the current situation.
Here is an example for you. Say that you have promised your wife and kids to take them on a round the world cruise. But just before you book it, Your car breaks down and you need to buy a new one. You can't get credit for the new one so what do you do? Use the holiday money for the holiday because after all you did promise it, or do you use the money for a new car so that you can continue to work and save again for the holiday?

Blackpool, it seems you disagree with a council tenant (usually a working class family) having the chance to own thier own home, can you confirm that please?

Maybe he just doesn't agree with the selling off of the council houses. There are plenty of private houses to buy.
I remember at the time when my parents bought our council house, we thought that it was great that they were able to do this. What we didn't understand was that the money raised could not be used to build more council houses. That is the bit that I don't agree with.

and that is why so many councils formed thier own housing associations (or joined forces with one) and GAVE thier housing stock away to them...

i consider THAT a bigger crime than any maggie committed

ive heard home owners (not ex-council) say how council tenants sit pretty and get everything done free and all on a plate, i had to remind them that they have an end date for thier (decreasing in real terms) mortgage wheras a tenant has no end to a (ever INCREASING) rent,

Thats why theres no affordable housing in london and lots of the south. What they sold for would cost double to build again .another one of her great legacys...
