Londons fecked.

All the loonies are out blocking the road christmas shopping. Real emergency journeys I'm sure you'll agree.

I'm staying put, otherwise some Minicab will end up embedded in the side of the new van.

Merry Xmas.

I'm staying put till tomorrow.

However if it freezes up overnight, the whole city/county/country will be f***ed.

Doomed, absolutely doomed.

Heaven only knows how the likes of Norway, Finland, Russia etc cope. They must be shut all winter ffs. Fortunately we've had the gritters and the snow ploughs out and most of the main roads are relatively clear, the side roads however are a bit of a nightmare. I'll be working later tho, see how it goes

In Sweden the local farmers are equiped with ploughs and are paid a retainer to clear all the local roads, whilst Vägverket takes care of the main routes.

Even the refuse trucks are fitted with ploughs, so the whole system is geared up for winter.

The footpaths in the towns are cleared and salted quite quickly by mini tractors.

Winter tyres are the law over there, they have metal studs in them for traction.

Snows all gone in Lincoln. Cold, but the roads are clear.

Worst day for three weeks.....

In the North East, we have had about 2-3ft of snow over the last 3 weeks, and hardly a mention on the news, fact is us notherners just get on with it, while the rest moan and whine at the first sign of a snowflake. Today at Teesside Airport it was -15, meanwhile the BBC and SKY news are having babies because the soft southerners have had 3-8 inches, the beeb is even putting on a snow special...lol. Get a grip, it the winter FFS, our kids are making snowmen, not going to TESCO to panic buy with their mams.

I have drove everyday, been in 3 hour jams, and never charged more than my normal price, most of my fares are regular. I am appreciated more and I know in the long run I will get my returns.

Its just a bit of snow.

Agreed. I'll make an effort to get through.

Had a good night, on the go continually.

Temperature -1/0 all night. No fresh snow. Bus routes pretty near perfect. Side roads like ice rinks.

Lots of compliments about driving style, most of our early morning workers impressed that I got to them on time or even early.

Thoroughly enjoyed myself in our sprinkling, bring on the next lot!!

Busy round here too, shame I called it a day for that useless cricket team really.

It was cold though -9 in the City to -13 in the countryside.
