Someone wants to give the police and management at heathrow a massive kick up the backside today it took me 2and a quarter hours to get from the junction of the M4 to the T3 car park !!! why because the drop off zone at T3 was that clogged up with traffic it was tailing back to the M4 no sign of any accidents or road closures just noone taking responsibility for moving on the London PH boys and othersn choking up the drop off zone causing a massive queue

UNBELIEVABLE !

If it's that bad again, try going to T4 and get the train.

Weren't T1 and T3 closed anyway? It was on the news today telling passengers not to travel to the airport for T1 and T3.

The article from the Guardian says that passengers were being stopped from going into the terminal.

Mind you I was heading for arrivals but looking out from the windows of the car park it "looked" like business as usual just even more congested than normal and not a traffic warden or copper in sight

If they wanted to stop more arrivals you would have thought that they would have been out at the drop off zone moving people on

The news reported the same all day.

Happens often on Sunday evenings too. There are two lanes for dropping off for private hire and car, there are two more lanes nearer the departure building for buses and taxis to whizz through, sometimes the police let you use them to drop off if it's busy. Was this the case yesterday? (I was there but didn't notice anything as I went straight into the car park)

You can cut out the spur road bit anyway, by going down the East Ramp accessed by using J3 M4, A312 south, A4 west (if coming from London), or use the T5 exit off the M25 (if coming from other directions), then use the Northern Perimeter Road.

If the side tunnel is open (it wasn't yesterday), so much the better, as you can take the exit left immediately afterwards heading towards car park 1a, and cut through to T3 by going immediately to the right hand lane, then turning right before the Singapore Airline advertising things, beside the T3 car park. (hope it's not too complicated!)

Something needs to be done about PH waiting at the drop off creating that congestion, I always use the car park, besides I noticed it was free yesterday.

I have got a possible Heathrow drop off tomorrow.Got a lady wants to meet her hubby in New York flying with Virgin.

Are the roads all clear now? I would normally go down the A43 past Silverstone down onto the M40 or straight down the M40.(Hate M1 M25).

As I write this just had a booking for a Brum pick up at 09.00 so might pass the Heathrow on anyhow now and stay local.

Cheers and Merry Xmas to all

Steve
