Toots you dont need snow to fit them, what happens when it get icy,
Think of your own and passenger safety

No Toots all taxis and PH should have them fitted they save you from being stuck in snow or on icy roads.
I fit them at the start of November every year and they come off at the start of April

I disagree

NOTHING will stop you getting stuck in snow/ice - thats mainly down to the driver, some idiots would get into trouble in a landy............

Usual argument: We don't get enough of it down here to justify the investment.

I meant the link to the driving technics. I thought perhaps it's cos I's a girl and you think perhaps I need to learn how to drive in the winter

That aside I had a good trip. Went over the snake pass and omg what a view and made so much more dramatic because of the snow. Felt a little nervous if the truth be told but well worth the effort. Came back towards Buxton then headed towards Stockport missing out the pleasure of driving up hill to High Peak.

It needed merchandising and I don't know many van men that do that

Mmm Not looking forward to this. Incidently whilst looking at http://www.highways.gov.uk/default.aspx I found Make time for winter: www.highways.gov.uk/winter and on there it mentions a system that they are trying out on the A2 Jubilee Way in Dover, Kent. The system sprays anti freeze on the road. Has anybody seen it and does it make a difference. Personally I think it would have been better testing it further north, over the border

They have been using this system in lincolnshire for 3 years now and it does work as long as they do it BEFORE the snow falls !
