Aberdeen woman hit taxi driver and chased him around cab
53-year-old given 80 hours of community service

AN ABERDEEN woman who punched a taxi driver in the back of the head and then chased him around his cab has been ordered to carry out community service.

Julietta Watt had been picked up by driver William Hay from a doctor’s surgery, Aberdeen Sheriff Court heard.

But the 53-year-old hit the Aberdeen cabbie while he was driving – after shouting at him he was going in the wrong direction.

Mr Hay asked Watt to get out of the cab and she attempted to kick him. When she started chasing him around his taxi he went back into the cab, locked his doors and the police were called, the fiscal added.

Watt, whose address was given in Aberdeen Sheriff Court papers as 27 Beechwood Court, Aberdeen, previously admitted repeatedly punching Mr Hay on the head, chasing after him and repeatedly attempting to kick him.

Sheriff Cowan sentenced Watt to 80 hours of community service for the offence.
