well it happened tonight, my first runner in about 8 years

what a loverly girl, nice and polite whiled away the journey with plenty of chit chat

then I got that sinking feeling, something just doesnt seem right

we did call at an all night service stn, [CCTV] something then struck me, thinking i aint going to get paid, her phone went, [its mum] she wants some fags, [what at half past 2 in the early hours I thought], the phone conversation seemed phoney the way she was speaking, pre planned job, me thinks

anyway got to the destination, she told me just going to pop in to the house, oh how much is it she asked, 22 quid i said, ok thats all right, Ill get you 25 quid from mum to pay back in a minute

I know, should have been cash up front but sometimes your mind plays tricks on you.

that sinking feeling started to sink deeper, yep she never came back, the thing is there arent many houses, so done an Email to the local cop shop reporting a crime of bilking

funny the last runner i had was xmas time, thats the last time I will pick up off Rougier St rank, got to be the scummy rank of them all, and to cap it all I never ever use it cos it just seems trouble from there.

We usually keep hold of their mobile phones whilst they go in the house to get the money

We do the same thing but I got conned one year, did this job to Bulwell price of £21, the guy said "I'll leave my phone on the dash while I nip in". Here's me thinking I'm going to get paid. I'm sat there waiting when all of a sudden I picked the phone up to find out it was a fake one which they use in the phone shops.

I was on a rank 2am, when a guy got in and wanted great bar, not on my patch, never been there and pre-satnav days, he was half-cut, but gave directions

the fare racked up - £40 if i remember* - he gave me a tenner and needed to "nip in for more", alleyway between terraced houses......gone

tick tock tick tock......here we gow, but then he came out and even tipped me.

i have only had 3 run, £7, £9 and £1.50......

And if they don't come back and pay what do you do with the phone? If you keep it or try to dispose of it you will most likely commit an offence yourself.

Looks in phone phone book dials home friend or mum Hello I found this phone do you know where the person lives so I can return it, contact local police to accompany you and bobs your auntie

But the other scenario is they could have nicked it and use it as a decoy eusasmiles.zip

If it is safe and legal to leave your car where it is, could you not offer to accompany the passenger to their door to get their money?

Just say "I'll come with you, then you don't have to come back to the car".

I've never had to worry about that side of it they've always come back with the money. When I had an incident recently and they didn't have any cash I pulled along the side of a parked police car and explained the situation. I also explained that I had offered to take them the cash machine if they left their mobile phone as security and the police seemed to think that was a fair compromise. Consequently they were dealt with by the police because they didn't want to leave their phone and the girl paid me before they got out :?
