nearly every pundit is forecasting oil to go above $100 a barrell early in 2011 with some forecasting $150 a barrel by summer others saying 5 to 10 % growth no one is forecasting a price drop !

Just wish someone would come up with an electric taxi that could do enough miles on one charge to coveer a normal shift !

amen to that

when schools in i do 150 miles a day (6 days a week) half morning/half evening

i need a focus sized car and decent performance on electric, not "hybrid" unless its a LPG-fuelled generator unit powering the leccy motor(s)

like a down-market version of the new leccy-jaguar

I think the future is hydrogen.

to put this into perspective

20 years ago we lived in snowdonia

Harlech was 14 miles away and i charged £15

fuel has trippled in price

oddly, insurance then (8 seater new policy) £1250

ive just paid £1300 on a mondeo with 3 years NCB!

and i still quote £1 PLM for long runs.....

It is the unit of measurement used by a lot of private hire drivers. It stands for PER LOADED MILE.

PLM is considered a delicacy in the Navy, when battered and fried!
