And if you've made the post and it doesn't work then there's a little button called 'edit' in the top right corner - beside the 'quote' button - and this will take you back to the screen where you type in your response, so you can have another go :D

That's why my posts are always word-perfect

And before you submit your post, there's another button next to the 'SUBMIT' button.

That button is labelled 'PREVIEW' & is to the left of the 'SUBMIT' button.

If you click on the 'PREVIEW' button, before you click on the 'SUBMIT' button, you will be able to see what your post will look like, when you eventually press the 'SUBMIT' button.

This allows you to preview your post, which means that YOU can see what it looks like, before anyone else on TDO. And that's why it's called the 'PREVIEW' button, because you can pre view your post.

If you are not happy with the way your post looks, the 'PREVIEW' button allows you to edit your scribblings but scrolling down on your computer page.

When you scroll down the computer page, your posting screen will be revealed & you can then re-edit your post. Once you have re-edited your post, you can pre view it again. You can do this as many times as you like until you are satisfied with the way your post looks.

When you are satisfied how your post will look, you can then click on the 'SUBMIT' button.

BUT!!!

Once you have submitted your post, you will need to click on the 'EDIT' button if you want to change your post. If you do click on the 'EDIT' button, the original posting screen will be displayed again.

From this screen, you can start all over again & edit your post, preview it & when you are happy, satisfied & contented with what you have written, you can then re-submit it so that we can all read what you have written.

NOTE: Should you click on the 'EDIT' button & re-edit your post, there is NO 'RE-SUBMIT' button. You must use the 'SUBMIT' button agin to post your amended writtings.

PS. If you ask Alex nicely, he will enrol you on a TDO User NVQ course. This course is brand new & as the first candidate you could report your experiences of this course on the TDO Forum.

Aberdeen city of culture, dont make me laugh.

I made no such claim.
I merely pointed out that if I wished to spend my hard earned on a holiday to a formerly popular overpriced seaside resort with crap weather and more drunken Englishmen than you could shake a big stick at, I could do that without leaving home.
I also pointed out that when I go on holiday, I prefer a bit of culture. That rules out your manor.
Now laugh if you wish.

I really shouldnt have to explain this but if your a bit slow on the uptake here goes.
Most people who come to a rank in blackpool wanting to go out of town will have a figure they think they should pay.
For instance in a ph you could go to preston for 25 ish pounds or manchester airport for 45 pounds, without getting into too much detail this isnt viable for me as a hackney.
Now was that so difficult to understand ?

Then quote the job at a rate which is viable to you as a hackney.
If you all do this, they will soon get the message.
You don't tell them to phone the opposition - or worse, do it for them  .
Once PH have got your customer and carded them, they are lost to your trade for good.
They may be going elsewhere next time and you have shown them how to get there for less. They will tell their friends and you have lost them as well.
You may as well hand out bus timetables and direct them to the stops while you are at it. FFS
Now you tell us what's so difficult to understand?

Where in your head has that got anything to do with deristriction ?

The only legal reason to restrict licences is no significant unmet demand.
It seems that you may be creating unmet demand for out of town hirings, currently not being met by the local trade.

Do all of blackpools hacks turn away decent runs, are you all afraid to leave the locality for fear you might not be let back in?

why is a meter rate on a long run "of no use to a hackney"?

the mystery deepens.....

Jesus christ its not that difficult is it ? I dont always turn away out of towns, used to like having the conferences for that ! sadly long gone. But as i said before dont get many people just come and ask for out of town without wanting a price.I dont know how most of you work so i cant comment on anyone elses pricing, but like i said i can rarely compete with local radio firms. As for opposition nearly every firm here is mixed fleet ph and hackney.I think only one is ph only.If someone approaches me say for preston id usually quote 35,40[went last sat night]But they told me at various points they paid 25 to come ! If they want to pay fine if not ring who brought you ! It clocks well over 25 quid so im not prepared to do it,all depends on the time or day or night ,2oclock in the morning or 2 oclock tuesday afternoon makes a difference.Hope this clears it up for you.On a similar note if you go to manchester airport theres a price list for hackneys and believe me there a lot more than ph,same at heathrow.
