I still like the idea of having a 100% WAV policy.

But allow drivers over a certain age to license saloons that can only be driven by licensed drivers over that certain age.

Sussex that is to easy an idea for the government they always want to complicate things. It would solve a lot of problems :) in fact it would probably solve all the wav/saloon issue. :)

I go back to a point that hasn't been answered.

If I own 10 WAV plates and I find myself with a disability, if this thing is successful what is to stop me from getting them exchanged for 10 saloon plates?

CC

The fact that it is impossible for one disabled licensed driver to drive 10 saloon Hackneys at the same time!

Even for you, that's impossible Captain!!

You almost tripped over on what I was alluding to.

At some point it may hit you full in the face, let me know when.

Indeed, so he sit's on his bum and joins the saloon profiteers in Dundee, along with Tone's owner?

We're not on the same wavelength on this one, so you might as well tell me.

So who is the licence holder of the vehicle you driver - are you accusing tx_op of lying?

Isn't there an age rule for new plates in Brum that doesn't apply to old ones?

Thus the old ones are more desirable, so those lucky enough to have them can sit around on their bum and profiteer?

My point is that a taxi operators license is its own distinct entity, the drivers license is separate.

It would seem what this person wants is for his taxi operators license to be changed from WAV to saloon.

If that is the case, then if I owned 10 taxi operators licenses for WAV's, it should surely follow that I should have 10 taxi operators changed to saloons.

Is that clear enough?

If you have read my previous posts you would now i am not a plate holder and have never hidden that fact on TDO. I would like to know why me being or not being a plate holder is relevant to this thread.
I will tell you why because some people in this post have not liked what i have said so therefore are trying to discredit me sad them.

There is now a moratorium on the issue of HCV licences in Brum, which has been in place since, October 2008. It has just been extended until September 2013.

Before that you had to have a new vehicle with no more than 300 miles on the clock for the grant of a licence.

So, two years & three months after the moratorium came into place, what's a Brum HCVL plate worth?

Any guesses?
