If you have read my previous posts you would now i am not a plate holder and have never hidden that fact on TDO. I would like to know why me being or not being a plate holder is relevant to this thread.
I will tell you why because some people in this post have not liked what i have said so therefore are trying to discredit me sad them.

I know you're not a plate holder, I never thought anything different, or indeed I have never mentioned the fact.

I think you've tried to discredit me, far more than I've tried to discredit you.

I only asked......and it seems like years ago now.......why the guy didnt apply for an exemption from WAV work.......you then flipped your lid.

No, it's not your plate that's the issue, it's the person whose plated vehicle you're driving that's being questioned.

But clearly like Mr Blackpool you're a bit selective about which facts are made known.

So, two years & three months after the moratorium came into place, what's a Brum HCVL plate worth?

Any guesses?

Not much, I would guess, but is there still a two-tier plate system in operation?

And a survey with a five year currency? Interesting.

We're not on the same wavelength on this one, so you might as well tell me.

My point is that a taxi operators license is its own distinct entity, the drivers license is separate.

It would seem what this person wants is for his taxi operators license to be changed from WAV to saloon.

If that is the case, then if I owned 10 taxi operators licenses for WAV's, it should surely follow that I should have 10 taxi operators changed to saloons.

Is that clear enough?

CC

I don't follow that reasoning.

If this driver wants to avoid the hassle of driving a WAV & constantly refusing wheelchair passengers because he is legally exempt under the Equality Act from doing wheelchair jobs, then he should NOT be allowed to exchange his WAV for a saloon.

However, if he is so disabled that he finds it difficult, uncomfortable, painful etc because of his disability to drive a WAV, then the council must accommodate him under the Equality Act. But only for the one vehicle he will be driving.

WTF's the owner of the vehicle you drive got to do with your character?

If you do have a character defect then it seems to be some kind of persecution complex, or some sort of surrogate paranoia in relation to your country bumpkin plate holder overseer.

We've had two surveys; one in 2007/08 & one in 2010.

What do you mean by two-tier plate system, because Brum has never had such a thing?

If i have a fiver for every time i have said that it is not write for someone to not work there taxi i would be a rich man but a court case, Holt versus Dundee city council allows this to happen, i choose to be a driver rather than a operator and did have a wav licence but it bankrupt me.Now does that stop me from trying to help other taxi drivers and have opinions on other things.I do not care what i drive infact i like the security you get from a wav.

Err, didn't you just allude that some plates could run sheds but some had to run new vehicles?

Thus the 'shed' plates would have had a value, hence two-tier?

If that's what your idea of two-tier is, then so be it.

More paranoia.

No one was suggesting anything illegal, all that was being questioned was the involvement of owner/plate holder of the car you drive with the trade.

Not you, the vehicle's owner.

Not that difficult, surely but like Blackpool you seem to be doing your best to avoid the question.

But clearly tx_op is on the button, thus your silence is easily explained.

I understand where your coming from, but in respect of this case we've have to now forget the driver situation as a driver license is seperate from a proprietor license.

I'm sure it will be tested. But I dont think current law would make a distinction between one license and ten.

Could a fleet proprietor not argue he might drive any of the ten at somepoint during the week?
