The new forest was scheduled to send a report to the licensing committee on the 14th Jan. If anyone gets wind of this report before I do will you post the link please.

I also think Blackburn's report is due this month along with several others.

Just had a quick look and the agenda didn't include a de-limit report, the meeting just dealt with the inns and outs of the Licensing Act.

Which has no bearing on taxi licensing.

Oh yes, that's another Mickism that he was questioned about in another thread, but ignored the points raised then brought them up again here!

So do you think that it's more affordable to:

Pay 15k for a motor and 30k for a plate;

or

Pay 20k for a motor and get a 'free' plate (by free I mean a plate for an adminsitration fee which is nominal in relation to the vehicle and/or plates in restricted areas);

If you think tha the latter is unfair then surely the former is even more so?

On the one hand you think that qualitative controls in unrestricted (or partially restricted) areas are unfair, but then complain about the number of vehicles, and even sougth an age rule in Gateshead, I seem to recall, which also seems to contradict your current stance.

As MR T seems to think, the trade should encourage commitment, but this can be done through tough driver and vehicle standards and thus a level playing field.

I aint going on no plane :wink:

commitment through standards, i fully agree.

the argument about poor vehicles maintenance and delimitation does not hold water, there are as many sheds running around restricted areas as derestricted, the words Blackpool and Liverpool keep reverburating on this site. :wink:

simple answer, if you cannot afford to operate a taxi after delimitation, get out of the game leaving it to those who can.

survival of the fittest, law of the jungle, call it what you will.

According to the minutes of the 18/11/04 Licensing Committe, the big D has been decided. The only outstanding issue being vehicle criteria. \:D/ \:D/

Captain how would you feel if I came over to Carlisle with 50 suitable vehicles plated them and let drivers drive them without charge.
Then when those 50 were out bring another 50 accross and do the same again.

Are you fit enough to survive, and could you really enjoy anything more than what you do now.

lol GA, the fact of the matter is that you can.

Purchase any age of WAV, or a saloon in white paintwork under 3 yrs of age, pass the knowledge test, pass the driving test, and you'll get a license.

I'll even recommend to for the TOA :wink:

Were short of cabs anyway, you might find the commuting across the A69 a bit of a pain though :wink:

I'll carry on doing my 28 hours per week.

hehe

Captain cab

PS come to the next NTA regional meeting across your way in March, I'll buy you a drink :wink:
