pretty quite down here at the moment. not many people going in to town, i was about 30% down on what i would normally do on a friday and saturday night.

i hear weekdays are hard going though. i think i'll just cover my costs and wait till end of month pay day...

Not good down on the South Coast I'm afraid.

But at least it's not as down (as a %) as much as Xmas and the New Year.

its very bad here, too, but looking at christmas and new year I see it was not as bad then as I thought.

banks are raking in the credit, its going to be tough beyond easter, and you wont forgive me for saying it, but reduction of money supply and exportation of huge cash for, the crisis in asia, means the circulation is chronic, the cash is not there.

the civic being ruined, all the staff now working at the local museum, so the question remains, why do they need a building that size?

The fact we are all giving him £10 each when we see him, and allowing him to go straight 'on point' may have a little something to do with that??

Oh, his cabs rent free as well.

Good luck to him, saying that tonight for a Thursday in January was not bad.

it's picked up down here now, evenings anyway. couple of navy ships and a sub came home this week and 200 or so marines back this week from Iraq too. so weds night was very good, even for a normal weds night.

lets see if it carries on to the weekend and then after that its first payday of the year for many peeps so should be back to normal-ish.

but then, we all knew it was going to be quiet for the first few weeks after new year, so it's a matter of sitting tight and waiting.

Taxifast, who i drive for, have done a big advertising mailshot this week too, 40,000 mini newspapers with vouchers in the west of the city. so that should help pick things up.
