It's £149.9 for diesel here, putting £250 a week in fuel........ crazy.

Meter is set at £2.60 for 1st 3/4 mile and 32p per quarter mile after that, get a turn on a Saturday night apart from that its dire.

What other options do we have?

You must be doing quite a lot of work to be using £250 worth of diesel every week.

Very rural location half the miles are dead miles, do about 1300 miles a week. Not getting out of it what I should be.

i do 850 miles a week on contract, £90+vat/wk fuel for £500+vat

we moved the wrong way (out of the area really) which added about 300 dead miles a week, thats my fault, i dropped down from a 33mpg tourneo to a 47mpg mondeo (thank god)

rural area (very)

Is it that you're not getting enough out of it or is it a case of not getting as much as you would like out it?

That would sugest that you are doing 650 paid miles a week which at 32p per quarter mile is well over £800 per week, take off the £250 and you are left with over £550 per week. Hardly "dire".

You've got to take maintenance costs out of that and the vehicle maybe on finance or rented, he maybe the only bread winner in the family and who knows about the mortgage committments etc etc, that's why I asked "Is it that you're not getting enough out of it or is it a case of not getting as much as you would like out it?"

not necessarily

thats assuming he picls up at his door and drives straight back whereas he may have to travel to the pickup

i do 360 loaded miles out of 850 per week, before we moved it was 360 loaded, 500 total

He says that he does 1300 miles and he also says that half of them are dead miles so there is no assumption at all.
