I though I'd start this new thread so that we could all post our own film reviews.

I took the missus to the flick yesterday afternoon, we hadn't been for years and as it was her 60th this past week, I thought, as one of her many treats over the next two weeks, we'd go and see a film on a topic that she liked, ballet.

So we went to see Black Swan.

I knew it was a dark drama, but f*ck me, there's dark and there's f***ing pitch black!!

The wife liked it but said she would not make a special effort to see it again, but would watch it if it was on the TV in the future.

Me, it wasn't my scene. The ballet was good, but the self harm, schizophrenia, hallucination, paranoia, just wasn't for me!!

When I go to see a film I like to be entertained, not come out at the end with a headache, still trying to fathom out what the hell all that was about!!

Picked up the same old dears two weeks running from a local cinema.

They loved 'The King's Speech', but were shocked by the amount of swearing.

They quite liked 'The Black Swan', but were shocked by the rudeness of it.

In one part almost pornographic rudeness indeed!!

I bet secretly they were loving it; reminded them of their youth all those decades ago.

Otherwise how else would they have known what was going on?

Natalie Portman does deserve her Oscar nomination though for the lead role.

And the support role as the reserve dancer is played by Mila Kunis of Pretty Woman fame; a real doll!!

I quite enjoyed 'The King's Speech', but not sure if it really is Oscar material.

Liked Avatar last year, and Batman the year before, but nothing has reached that level so far this year.

Looking forward to Pirates of the Caribbean 4.

That's why you quote Star Wars so much.

Must have been on re-release 'cause it's older than that.

The grate escape? Is that the one where they get out of the pow camp through the drains?

Does it matter as long as a British film wins the best film Oscar ahead of the Yanks?

Or a French, or German or Sri Lankan film ahead of the Yanks!!
