'Cheating wife' crash driver punished
A TAXI driver has been ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work after failing to stop following a crash yards from his home.
Lee Adams, 34, of Dumont Avenue, St Osyth, admitted driving without due care and attention and failing to stop when he appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court.
The court heard how Adams had discovered his best friend was having an affair with his wife.
He left his mother’s home, where he was staying, to travel to his former home to find out if his friend was there, but hit another car nearby.
Both cars were written off.
He went back inside and police arrived about 15 minutes later, the court heard, before he had the chance to report the crash.
Adams was also given nine penalty points on his previously clean licence and had the licence endorsed.
