I guess, and call me stupid if I'm wrong, but if it is private hire it won't have the word TAXI on the roof. The problem with most in this trade is they keep saying the public get confused/mistaken. The public don't get confused/mistaken the majority just don't care they just want to get from A to B as easily as possible.

Can we just call you stupid anyway.
The word TAXI can be on a private hire vehicle. Well it can be in my town. There is a company in my town called ***** taxis. They have the same name on their hackneys and private hire vehicles.

You can call me anything, but, don't call me early  The company I work for is **** Taxis but we can't have the word Taxi on our private hire vehicles, we just have the first part of the name on our door signs

Not in edinburgh.

Not anywhere in Scotland.

Who really cares. Taxi has become a generic name.

There has been a blurring between taxis and PH to the point where they are both doing essentially the same job.

The only difference now is hailing.

Personally I don't see a need for two types. It would be in the public interest for everyone to be operating to the same rules.

We should all be taxis.

And, if that were the case, and we were all working to the same higher standard, and there was real managed growth, then who knows, capping numbers might not be a problem to me.

The above pictures show that this has been happening already apart from the wheelchair access side of things.
The big question is are the council going to introduce a wheelchair training course for PH just like the one every taxi driver has to complete before gaining there brief in Edinburgh!!!!!
Their is no chance of the PH companys fully equipping their fleets to the wheelchair access levels of the taxi trade in Edinburgh to even have a sniff of the main contracts that require this as a requirement to gaining the contracts

Jealousy?

That's how stupid you are.

Consider this.

Sian O'Callaghan was not murdered by a taxi driver.

She got into a private hire.

And she knew the driver.

You're immersed in trivia Frank, because you are stupid.

The real issues are beyond you, because you are an imbecile, a simpleton who shouldn't be mixing with real people. YOU are why care in the community can never work.

And City of Edinburgh Council, led by the scumbag keir, would rather have saloon hire cars which are easily duplicated so that when the greedy taxi trade can't meet the demand, defenceless females, dulled by drink or drugs, are encouraged into unlicensed vehicles just so they can get home.

Please die Frank. And do the rest of us, and vulnerable women, a fovour.

C'mon jimmy boy, try making sense.

You seem to be saying phc's are bad on that post,
But on the previous post you wanted them all to become taxis.

You're getting "off message"

Maybe its time for a another visit to sighthill for your friends to explain what you need to say.

Oh to be able to "hob-nob" with ecph, must be nice.

I don't think there will be much problem getting ph to do the wheelchair training course and quite rightly too.

Well if the drivers are all self employed I'll guess they'll have to pay for it then won't they if they want to continue to work
