Now you have blown his cover!

I thought it was a common name in the midlands and never related it to a certain ex-poster of this here parish.

As for jedidaz's datamaster testimonial, good to read of another happy follower. If all goes well, from tomorrow, I'll be the next to sing their praise. So far all I'll say is Bill has the patience of a saint.

Let us know how you get on.

How many motors have you got to wire up?

I'm not saying Datamaster is the best but having worked with it before, I can't fault it. 'Best' depends on what you imagined.

Going to rewrite that line.

Not slating firms like Auriga and such like, Datamaster is the best I've worked with so far. Don't see any need to change once both operators and drivers have accustomed themselves.

Yes Matt does appear to be a cyborg, and the others do have more patience than you can imagine.
Steve even reworked our plots before we were up and running. How's that for service?

Now, if only I could get my head around this accounts package............

By the way, wasn't this originally a Mercury thread, not a praise datamaster thread?

LOL

Ah the accounts package. I wasn't really a fan of it to start with, however Slick tailored it to exactly how I wanted it, and now its fine. After you process a few times it becomes easier. As with anything with Datamaster, if there's a problem just phone them.

22 all in. about 5 different meter manufacturers, no idea how many models. the job itself is straight forward. the determining what wire feeds the top-sign isn't.

anyone confirm that cygnus is blue? I know digitax is white. euro and viking I think are blue.

After reading that slick is doing an install I don't want to bother him just yet.

he'll still be here. BT are being, well, BT. CLI, which slick assures me takes 2-3 hours to activate in Englandshire is now 8 days and counting. To say he was rather peeved would do the man a major dis-service. I liked his style on the phone to them tho'.

Don't ring him too early because I had to give him a problem that I couldn't solve at 3am this morning.

Just to explain the accounts situation though, the core software was written by Maurice who then had a serious car accident and became totally blind. At the time Slick was only our installation man but he knew the system well and was pretty good with Microsoft Access and so over a period of time has became the main man for accounts. It's all there and working but I think it could do with a bit of a makeover to freshen it up a bit.

And BTW, Slick wasn't thrown out of the diplomatic school for nothing. He's a great bloke once you see past the hairy biker image and he'll go out of his way to help people out. I'd call him a rough-cut diamond but I don't want him thinking he's priceless.

spot on description, Bill. all progressing nicely(ish) cars done, office 90+% done, may even be finished by now, in fact. like yourself he's a trojan when he gets going. BTW don't mention memory cards to James, long story, but Slick can be quite convincing when on the wind up.
