The CRB are no longer going to issue enhanced checks on taxi drivers just because Licensing authorities would prefer them. The criteria for enhanced checks has always been close contact on a regular basis with children and vulnerable adults. So from now on standard checks are the standard. Enhanced checks may still apply to County Council contract work. This information came from my Licensing Officer.

Well, that's £10 saved this year. :D

You may want to contact your local authority for confirmation.

IT was alluded to in this thread from nearly two years ago.

http://www.taxi-driver.co.uk/phpBB2/vie ... hp?t=11379

Basically the CRB folks don't believe they should be doing enhanced checks for our trade.

Which does beg the question as to why the f*** they are. :?

I've been banging on that door for the last 5 years Skip, they won't budge. They are punishing us for someone else's wrong doings.
