TDO has been forwarded a copy of the driver's contract for all to see.

Even though it's a bit lop-sided. :-s

Arrow driver's contract

Alex

How do you turn it so you can read it, its showing sideways instead of up and down

I noted the dress code inc tie and company blazer, its all about professional image, this will result in recommendations and regular business, the current set up with the black cabs is they wear whatever they like, football tops , pigamas, trainers u name it they wear it.

Its not only the taxi companys image its also the image of the airport and manchester in general.

If the black cabs dont start to get their act together they will be on their way out.

I suggest they get together and organise a standard uniform for all inc tie and blazer, proper smart trousers and polished black shoes this will get their image back on track and put them in a position to compete on a level playing field with their competitors.

It's very difficult to implement a uniform policy with ' different cultures' involved - we have tried in Leeds but nothing is said if certain people bend the rules - But you are brought to task if you happen to be White and should know better mmmmmm the old chestnut the race card is used unfortunately !! Don't get me wrong nothing wrong with different cultures , but on certain issues the different opinions are miles apart and square pegs don't fit in round holes  another plus for Mr Arrow what he says in his company is final - if you don't like it theres always down the road

What you really mean is that Licensing Officers are sh*t scared of enforcing regulations such as an acceptable dress code or policy!!

That's what you really mean and it's the same in Brum.

So if Mohammed won't go to the mountain, then the mountain must go to Mohammed!!!

I wonder what would happen then, if all non-Muslim drivers around the country started wearing the shalwar kamiz; what would the licensing enforcement officers do then?

Licensing authorities will not impose dress restrictions or codes. They do not have the power to do so, without forming a specific bye-law, that by law would have to be endorsed by the secretary for state. Nobody would want to such a hot potato.
The only way forward is to do what Brummie and the boys did at Brum Airport. Form your own management company, tell the customer(in this case the airport, who incidently is MAG, Manchester airport) what they can expect from you and your drivers. Let the commercial benefits drive the change, we dont need regulation
