Enforcement officers ??? What are they ???? I didn't quite mean that but I only gave u half a story so my apologies - Leeds has 3 main HC companies and only one ( the one I referred to)has a dress policy - we do however share the station and did share the airport with the other two companies so u can imagine the issues here !

There are so many drivers out there that don't believe driver standards make a difference to the trade. This is due in part to the fact that the British public seldom complain to the right people and to the fact that people will put up with something they're not keen about just so long as they can get home from wherever they are.

You only have to look over at the Scottish section (not recommended for the faint hearted) to see the words 'only a taxi driver' and 'pretendy business men' to see how some people in the trade view it and god only knows how the public view it. What drivers forget is each individual is it's own small business and should treat it as such. If you went to a shop and it was smelly, dirty and disorganised would you want to shop there? You'd only go if it was the last resort. People are saying it's better on the train ffs, taxis should not be the last resort they should be the 1st option after a flight. Even a short flight involves hours of time travelling so cutting that time down by getting a taxi rather than a train or a bus has to be the first thing a customer thinks of. It's just a matter of education in the ways of business

New update, breaking news on another Manchester blog. All might not be well with Arrow cars licence. Just waiting permission to post (not my work) will be on tonight. It may effect Leeds and East Mids also.

Anything to do with the self-employed status of Arrow's drivers by any chance?

the 300K overdraft/debt is usually just accountants dong thier job and cancelling any tax due with clever juggling, havent arrow just bought 700k worth of cars?

without the full facts and figures and an in-depth explanation assume nothing

the top man is probably the companies main "consultant" billing em 300k....

The article does say they recommend the Unions accountants do a full depth financial search here, URGENTLY, As for the "purchase" of £700k of vehicle that is unlikely, Skippy has already told you that these vehicle are available on lease for !99 a month. The fact that Arrow cars wish drivers to pay for their own tyres(a standard term in any LEASE), suggest the cars are leased at a price of around a quarter of what Arrow re-charge for them.

Looks like theres alot of activity, ive already seen a new arrow car in manchester, brand new volvo, also alot of activity at manchester airport with installation of booking offices, very smart indeed. I didnt realise that the black cab drivers would have had such a big issue after all its just a bit of healthy competition but it looks like the black cab drivers are running scared.

Of course these new vehicles will be leased im sure alot of black cabs are leased as well, it just makes good business sense to do so.i get the impression that there are some black cab drivers just looking for an excuse to delay matters. I THINK THEY ARE WASTING THEIR TIME.

The bottom line from what i have read and seen is that ITS A DONE DEAL.
Just accept the fact that its a DONE DEAL and get on with life.
