I very much doubt ANY black cabs are "leased", leasing is anti-taxi-work, leasing is usually mileage restricted and plus vat (most ODs are not regd), if anything cabs are HP-funded or by personal loans (or cash purchased)

Black cabs/most PH ODs are 1 man bands and have very little business acumen, which is why so many end up renting a radio/datahead and joining the rest of the flock

Looks like theres alot of activity, ive already seen a new arrow car in manchester, brand new volvo, also alot of activity at manchester airport with installation of booking offices, very smart indeed. I didnt realise that the black cab drivers would have had such a big issue after all its just a bit of healthy competition but it looks like the black cab drivers are running scared.

Of course these new vehicles will be leased im sure alot of black cabs are leased as well, it just makes good business sense to do so.i get the impression that there are some black cab drivers just looking for an excuse to delay matters. I THINK THEY ARE WASTING THEIR TIME.

The bottom line from what i have read and seen is that ITS A DONE DEAL.
Just accept the fact that its a DONE DEAL and get on with life.

I wouldn't be so sure with the background of Arrow Cars emerging to be of the shady side.

I think you will find in the end that its A DONE DEAL, ive been thinking about this and this could be the nail in the coffin for the black cabs at manchester airport they wont be forced out but they will be in such a bad situation that it perhaps wont be even worth turning up at the airport for the next job as most of them will be taken care of by the new boys on the block.

New fleet of vehicles, new smartly dressed uniformed drivers, prominent booking office, special deals for staff and students etc etc etc

its all looking a bit shady for the black cab drivers in my opinion

The first few weeks at Leeds were chaos but I'm sure they have learned some lessons- Manchester is as we know on a bigger scale if they haven't learned from previously then...... ?????

You will have even more issues when your taken into the city by a Burton's dummy who will gladly lighten your wallet far quicker than a black cab will

i still cant work out why a "regular traveller" who is unhappy with the likes of Arrow and/or black cabs hasnt been bright enough to source transport that appeals to him...

I have strong feelings about the current situation, i just cant believe that an international airport could get itelf in to such an embarrasing position with is taxis, Arroww have a strict dress code: smart black trousers and shoues white shirtand tie and even company blazer, yet if tyoutr a black cab driver you can wear just about anything, baseball caps, trainers football shirts, and those asian gowns, ridiculous in my opinion
