Sutton man disqualified from driving after posing as mini-cab driver

A 50-year-old has been banned from driving for six months after he posed as a mini-cab driver to pick up two young women in Sutton town centre.
Robert Keefe, from Burntwood Lane, Caterham, was spotted by door staff at Revolution at 1am on August 21, driving a blue Toyota Previa.
The Toyota, which had passed the club several times, was then seen approaching two women who got into the back of the car.
But police, who had been called by Revolution door staff, soon stopped the car as it headed for Cedar Road.
The two women, aged 21 and 22, told officers the driver had offered to taxi them home.
At Sutton Magistrates Court, on April 11, Keefe was disqualified for six months and ordered to pay a £115 fine after pleading guilty to touting for hire without a licence and driving without third party insurance.
