Heard today that Falkirk's Finest arrested a driver on the rank on Sunday afternoon. Allegedly he had partaken of a few during the fitba and then came out to work. He was invited into the van for a chat, then handcuffed and put in the "cage" in the back. He's been about 20 years in the trade. No sympathy if allegation proves to be true.

On a slightly lighter note, they were about to drive away when it was pointed out to them the taxi was now parked illegally on the rank. They had to get back out and move it to a parking space across the road.

As the total distance would be less than 20 yds and in full sight of numerous fully licenced taxi drivers, the chances of him getting a flagdown would be less than zero.

Seriously. Would it matter, as the driver/plateholder was in his custody at the time?
