Don't underestimate this crew - we took the mickey in Leeds thinking it wouldn't last but 3 years later they are still there regardless of the extorionate fares and countless complaints or the rights and wrongs of it all and without doubt we took it up the backside too easy- at least you at man air managed to keep a HC rank though, we were sold out down the river aire !!!

I believe this is absolutley devastating. We know he must be "sweetening" somebody, but, how has he got such a level of co-operation, so quickly, from a new untested venture. The Airport group must be determined to get rid of the Hackneys.

I do not work the airport and do not like half the drivers who do, but, this decision could force them all back on to the "town", it will be the same as derestriction, IMHO

It's rather strange cos when I followed the link and got to the online booking form I put in my details, well sort of, and it costs more to go to the airport than it does to come back from the airport. It's also about £30 more than the other day when I did this exercise and not only that but they have the address as Bootle, Birkenhead Whatever system they are using is somewhat off the mark

It is in Derby,I heard a private hire radio advert,phoned the union chap who spoke to the council.Advert was changed.I don't think Derby has it's own law on this so there's a starting point for the hackney boys.

Have the hackneys got a contract with the airport or a right of stay does anyone know?

I picked up at Manchester T1 last night.There were 6 Arrow lined up,admittedly very smart in their suits and yellow ties.A few hackneys picked up whilst I was waiting,no Arrow which made me smile.A punter asked me if I did transfers to Crown Plaza.I directed him back over the road.I wondered if the Arrow drivers would direct him to the Hackneys as it's no doubt a crap job.Instead they just pointed across the way,I am guessing suggesting he could walk.

Here PH cant use the words TAXI or CAB (or any which sound like them) in signage or advertising

but i cant stop the local paper only having a TAXI section for my adverts....
