Complete and utter idiots with a totally unjustified complaint!!!

And this type of ridiculous view is probably the worst example of hypocrisy, duplicity and double standards that the cab trade has to put up with on a daily basis and it really does enrage me!!

They went to the Golcar Lily which is located on Slades Road, at Bolster Moor near Huddersfield. The pub’s website is; http://www.golcarlily.co.uk/golcar-lily-menus.html

They went to celebrate a birthday of one of their party and looking at the menu, with drinks added, it’s unlikely that they would have spent less than £20 a head and possible £25 to £30 a head, depending on how much they had to drink. And as they had licensed transport there and back, it’s fair to assume that most were drinking. So the total bill would have been a minimum of £120 for the six of them and possibly as much as £180 at the top end of their possible spend.

BUT THE LICENSED DRIVER HAS TO TAKE THEM BACK HOME WITH PROBABLY MORE THAN ONE DROP FOR A PITTANCE!!

They asked for a vehicle to carry 6 people, which they had dispatched to pick them up. That’s £3.77 per person to transport them back home on a Sunday!!! How much would they each want to work on a Sunday? Do any of them ever work on a Sunday?

There really is little correlation to the fare per person and what they have spent at the pub, but our trades seem to be going backwards in terms of fare price structures!!

So why didn’t they take the bus?

I dare say that if they had all taken the bus, it would have meant, walking to the bus stop near the Golcar Lily, waiting for it to arrive, travelling into Huddersfield, walking to another bus stop to changing buses to go to Deighton, waiting for that bus to arrive, travelling to Deighton and then walking home. Estimated total time of travel on a Sunday; anything from one and a half hours to perhaps three or four hours!!

And here’s the real irony!! The combined bus fares could easily have been more than the taxi fare!!

These people don’t know they’re alive!!!

This complaint is an irrelevance!!!

You are not happy are you, I can tell.

Well these types really do pi$$ me off - big style!!

6 out for a meal, 3 course, how much (inc drinks), £180?

BTW, i was under the assumption that a meter must be visible to passengers so how did they NOT see it till arriving home, it was a 12 mile trip...

was it booked for 23.45 prompt and they not came out till 00.15 like they all do to avoid rate 2?.... "it was booked for before midnight drive" (and we hoped youd be late)

We don't stand sh*t like that in Brum since 2008 anymore!!

Our meter tariffs are programmed 'using real time clock tariff changes in hired mode.'

That means the tariff charge changes, up or down, whether the meter is off or in hired mode. So the meter can change tariffs part way through a hiring.

The old system, where the tariff only changed after a hiring had been completed and a new one started, sometimes well into a new tariff time, was ditched as we had loads of these types of hirings, just before the tariff change. The new 'real time clock tariff changes in hired mode' has got rid of all that and has also spread out the bookings.

the alternative is to simply pull away after 10 minutes waiting time (5 mins if in grumpy)

hoi!! I resemble that remark. I give 6 mins then put the meter on (pre booked only), on spec - 3 mins and a no show.

reminds me of one we had a few years ago they phoned up and booked didn't ask for a price so i told the driver on the meter he picked 5 up but the 6th passenger was coming out of a hotel and they were waiting outside 15 mins then took them to Peternorough it metered £33 with waiting etc.

The following day i had the mum of one of the girls on the phone demanding a refund because on the way back they got a PH 6 seater who did em a silly cheap deal for £25 at 3am !and she was arguing that because the other company did it cheaper we had ripped them off ! and she was very argumentative and shouting down the phone at me and refused to get off the line or listen to my explanation of the difference in the end I had to cut her off

People just will not see reason the price is everything if dodgy cabs with drivers all on benefit and paying no tax can do it cheaper everyone else must be able to
