We’ve all heard it and even I have said it.

Many taxi drivers have transported famous people and you just don’t when it will be your turn.

How would a taxi driver prove it to their friends and family, just the same way as they would a false claim of rape and sexual assault I suppose, simply hope that they would be believed and the truth will eventually come out.

Here’s how this cabbie could prove he transported Bradford’s favourite Girl Aloud (Kimberley Walsh)

I would have thought that he would be breaking privacy laws.

Down here if you have CCTV installed then you do not have access to the recording.

I guess I've had lots of 'famous' people in the cab over the years, I can't say any of the ones I have recognised have interested me sufficiently to strike up a conversation.

I'm happy enough when they pay me.

And I'm guessing they're happy to have a quiet journey.

I would like to have had a few people I admire in my cab though, sportsmen such as Merx and Hinault would get a free trip for a chat!

If you work for a private hire company, especially in London, with TV contracts (there's two I could name - one of which I work for as a sub-contractor  ) the name of the passenger (should be) on your phone (sent as a text), or on your PDA - which you could take a photo of I suppose.

Indeed, most just want to spend the journey to themselves, sometimes they're on the phone or twittering away on their Blackberrys, sleeping, reading their script/newspapers, etc.

They just want to get in the car away from the fans and paparazzi outside, and would appreciate not having to put up with a chatty driver as well.

I would imagine (the car journey) is the only time when they have a few moments to themselves.

I don't think I've ever picked up anyone famous or a 'celebrity'...... If I have I obviously wasn't that interested, haha!!

My mate used to have a contract with a certain Mr W. Hague and his wife when he ran his own company.

CCTV is something I've been considering, more for the audio capture than anything else really. In our licencing area it's not a requirement but I feel it is something that deffinately has it's place in all taxis.

Three guys on Sat night Sunday morning @ 4.00 a.m looking very smart and suited up came to my cab..............Saint Davids Hotel a 5* was requested. No problem guys but can you keep your takeaways closed until we get there ? Yeah okay drive!

100 metres down the road I respectfully request (as they have started to eat the food in the cab, not to). I get a bit further down the road and the one with a "Black Eye, left eye" is stuffing chips down his throat as if they are going out of fashion, so I pull over and tell them that I will wait until they have finished because I do not want a mess in the car, they PROMISE me that there will be no mess, we PROMISE drive .

Normally I would not bother as it would be wrap it up or get out,but by now I had an inkling that these were not just ordinary punters and as we were off to a 5* the point was made and it will be okay.

We got to the hotel and the one with the black eye had deliberately deposited the remains of his takeaway on the seat, and plenty on the floor, I think to make a point!!!!!!!!

So if you know anyone from Northampton (we had the Heineken cup final here) who has a black eye, and stayed at Saint Davids hotel over the weekend and has lost his takeaway, tell him I tried to find him!!!!!!!!

Tell him I tried to find his father who might have been able to pass it on to him, but apparently he is a man without a father.

The fans of Northampton were brilliant, but the thugs and slime balls sometimes wear funny jerseys and shorts, and sport a BLACK EYE.

No food, drinks, ice creams EVER go in my Taxi.

Even people at stations are refused entry if they have cups in their hands.

No way Jose. =;

London is a different ball game with more or less an endless supply of punters, it is a lot different in the provinces and we cannot always be as choosy as much as we would like to be.

I normally turn anyone and everyone away who has food, whether it is wrapped or most definately unwrapped. On this occasion I dropped my guard because I mistook them for decent people, and thought as they were not going a great distance that they would have waited!!!!!!!!

I should have known better! super stars  with the manners of pigs

True, if I worked out in the provinces, I'd play a different ball game.

Basic LTI Bronze model plastic seats would be in, plus one of those rubber carpets for the LTI TX's that are sold on Ebay.

Nothing for them to muck up then.

I took two TX4 Taxis in Oxford last Friday night, and I see both of them had an areshole proof interior, one of them even had the passenger switch panel blanked off so he could control everything from up front!
