I was staying in Coventry (no not sent there lol) over the weekend as it was the closest place to get a premier inn for £29 a night so I could get to the GP,
I could no help noticing that nearly every cab was a TX1 and all in dam good order, there was even 2 M reg metro cabs that looked as if they had not been on the road long
Are there any other places in the UK where the cabs are predominantly the TX1

Nice to hear of a regulated area where the guys can afford to look after the sherbets.

The V & X Reg TX1s were rust buckets, and remember "All that glistens, is not golden".

The other train of thought might be...............they cannot afford to change them!

Speaking to a few drivers, they said they can only buy LTI cabs yet in the council areas all around them they have a choice of vehicles, and wish they could as its costing them around £65 for 230 miles just to fill them, they are also not restricted
