Bearing in mind that loss of these could lead to identity theft, could the council be sued for losing them?

Yeah your right, taxi drivers have never made so much money for the hours they've worked. The economy is on the up and the future looks rosy. It's almost like the last two years never happened. It's back to the good old days because chipper passed the “knowledge."

Talk about being delusional.

Didn't chipper used to bang the other drum on restricted numbers when he was PHing?

A driver changing their mind when they change code, whatever next?

Chipper, while I wouldn't deny you, your rose-tinted glasses I think there comes a point where you've got to look at things realisticaly. The taxi trade is fuc*ed. :-|

I think you'll find it would be the Royal Mail that would be responsible for any loss of post

its just diff view points thats all and if things get bad enough i would bail out and in to another line of work as u can never say never and if you do your just being a fool.

I don't disagree entirely with your point of view if that's what it is, but it's not the first time you've succumbed to group think.

When you were a Ph driver you had the Ph mindset and now that you're a hack you suffer from the same fate. And that my boy, is the problem with the taxi trade in general. The state of the economy is compounded by those working in the dream world, of how they want it to be and what it really means to be a taxi driver.

My personal feeling is that a smart taxi driver knows when to get out and that time is now. :-|

You clearly have a talent for being stupid Toots.

Who cares whether the Royal Mail is notionally at fault here. Fact is they provide a service for the transportation of important documents. And that does not include just firing them into a post box. Why else do they have recorded delivery or registered post, if not to allow such mail to be tracked.

As as we're shelling out more than enough for the licence, it doesn't strike me that cost is the problem here. Just bureaucratic ignorance.

In any case, by the time you've attached fault, all debt would already have been put in jeopardy.

The thing that mystifies me with you, the thread running through all of your posts, is your slavish protection off all things authority, of all things council.

Only someone who works for such an organisation could be like that, or at least someone very close to you does.

I believe you can get medication from a shrink to cure such myopia.

Been said before.

Nothing changes.

A good healthy triple pike off the North Bridge would help galvanise minds though.

Although I suspect the "businessmen" in the trade would probably opt for the hosepipe into the car in a quiet secluded wood.

Toots would leapo to the defence of the authorities, claiming they weren't responsible.

It's the economy don't you know.

Nothing of course to do with guys subsidising punters on quiet Tuesday nights. Or station taxi ranks being cluttered with Sun readers queuing like lemmings for the fare just around the corner.

But what gets me, is the many complaints I'm getting about the taxi being too hot. I have to ask the customer to open the windows. Why?

because the guy I'm shelling out 250 big ones to wont eplace a £30 heater valve, which is seized in the open position and we're all sweltering.

This feckwit council can't see that I wouldn't inconvenience my customers, if I had the choice. Their comfort would be my mission.

Because I don't want to work in an environment that council unions would nevber let exist.

So, why do I have to put up with this?

Explain this one Toots son.
