He is due for sentencing this Friday [tomorrow] 12th August 2011.

My guess is four years minimum and it could be six.

If this is genuine and not a girl who is trying to stitch the driver up after having a row about the fare then the fact he is asian suggests he could well be a muslim and there you have the problem in that the muslim faith teaches people that they can do ANYTHING they like to non muslims which unfortunately means that such incidents will always be commonplace fortunately the majority of muslims don't take these teachings as a code to live by but it is always there when temptation beckons

Taxi driver sentenced for sexual assault

A Birmingham taxi driver has been placed on the sexual offenders’ register for five years after he groped a female passenger in Bromsgrove last December.

Waqar Khan, 51, of Springfield Road, Kings Heath was found guilty at an earlier trial of sexually assaulting a woman in her late teens by touching her leg and buttock, after he picked her up in a black cab near the Dog and Partridge pub in Worcester Road in the early hours of December 11, last year.

Recorder, David Mason QC sentenced Khan to a three year community order with a supervision order at Worcester Crown Court on Wednesday, September 28.

He expressed concern over Khan’s state of denial, and what he called “a simmering potential problem”, adding: “There was an element of persistence in his offending, but he happened to pick the wrong victim. What may have happened with another young lady, who knows.”

The court heard how Khan has been suspended from working as a taxi driver and has sold his taxi. As part of his sentence he will have to undertake a community sexual offender programme, but he was not asked to contribute towards the court costs.

Recorder Mason, added: “He’s destroyed his 25 year career as a taxi driver and that’s a very high penalty in itself.”

Khan was arrested in January, after a public appeal by West Mercia Police.

Something ain't quite right here y'know, the story starts with the headline that suggests Asian raped innocent girl in taxi, then ends up that although not right, he's groped (touched) her leg and bum cheek, then we have his innocence plea all the way through until his brief obviously went up to him and said you're going down, own up now and I can still get it reduced, what I would like to know is

1 - Did they know each other beforehand

2 - What state was she in and is she known as easy locally

Now don't get me wrong, a lot of what some Asian driver's do completely has me pulling teeth at times, but there is also those that will target not just Asian's but any cabby with accusation's to get something for free, the camera might show him bang to right's, but the camera doesn't show if there is history between them or what went on after she got in, isn't a black cab fitted with a partition, so why was she in the shotgun seat which hardly any cabby ever use's, if he's genuinely guilty then he deserves all he gets, but somewhere in the back of my mind I think there's more to this than has surfaced in court.

I find your comments about our Justice system most offensive. Don't you know, everybody tells the truth in court? I've witnessed it myself on many occasions.

More to the point what happened to you on the Scottish Section. I even gave you a link to Jimmy Reid's speech, in the hope you might benefit from its reading.

I didn't have the time at the time tbh and then forgot about it, I have just placed two replies in the Scots section, although they are observations rather than replies to what is already there.

Good to see I'm not alone in noticing the kangaroo methods of justice, truth left the building when it all went like a football match rather than two sides seeking the truth, or another way to say it, I know my man is guilty but I must get him off so I can chalk up another win, or the flip, I know your man is innocent, but that doesn't matter as I have a winning streak to maintain.

It is the easiest thing in the world to tell if witnesses are lying in court.

Basically their lips move and sound comes out of their mouths.
