Opinions are welcome, this site doesn't stiffle opinion, if it did each post would be moderated and vetted before it even got to public view. I think you might agree that Publishing someones name, address and telephone number, is hardly opinion. This undoubteldy would have happened if Nigel or his partners in crime had ever got hold of such information. Nigel isn't alone in this little conspiracy I think he has been led by at least one individual but nigel is old enough to understand the consequences of his actions.

Best wishes

So he got gagged for something you THOUGHT he MIGHT do then eh?

very democratic.

And you lot let that Justin voice his opinions on here when he a Director of a company that does not pay their staff????????????????????

Hi Yorkie, hope you are well, need to put the record straight here it was not Lynda's commission that was not paid it was her wages and fuel she paid for out of her own pocket to visit customers, the reason she did not get any commission was she did not sell anything and the reason she did not do this is because she is not up to con people by taking up front payments for equipment and services it was clear could not be delivered.

Yes maybe an old record but a valid example of what can only be described as a prime example of the con men helping each other out.

So I awiat to be barred for voicing my opinion, oh this is such fun, wish I had stayed in the states. 8)

No, you are wrong I never barred him. I knew nothing about it until it was mentioned on here. Mr Marchant took it upon himself to investigate certain people and post the results of those investigations on this website. It didn't matter to Mr Marchant that the information he was posting was totally and utterly inaccurate. Accuracy has never been a gift that Nigel possessed. The point is this, he had an ulterior motive which is incompatible with the standards expected from this site. Nigel breached those standards when he took it upon himself to invade the privacy of others by posting what he thinks is personal information. I assume the point of his ban is to stop him from further invading the privacy of other members.

You say you are ill informed about the situation and you are making comments while not knowing the true facts, in that case perhaps the only way you can familiarise yourself with Mr Marchant's ban is to perhaps read the appropriate threads.

Best wishes

JD

The site has to adhere to several legal and ethical obligations.

One major obligation regards privacy, assuming that members don't want their personal details in the public domain. Clearly some members don't mind such details being made public, but other members do, and I'm sure all of us don't want anything and everything about us being in the public domain.

Thus if any member attempts to publicly disclose personal details of any other member that they clearly don't want disclosed, then we have to take action, particularly if there is clear evidence of malicious intent. We may do this with or without a specific request from the member who is wronged. The former case is self-evident, but in the latter case the member whose details have been disclosed may be on holiday, for example, and may not be aware of what is going on.

A good example is the email addresses of members held by the site, which may contain the member's real name and may not be for public consumption, in which case the site will not disclose them.

Other details, particularly those disclosed by third party members, may not be so obviously confidential, so we cannot immediately deal with any information that members may not like being disclosed, but of course any specific request will always be dealt with as soon as possible.

Another of the site's major obligations regards the law of libel. For example, we were recently threatened with legal action by a local authority unless messages posted by a certain member were removed.

However, action is only taken in exceptional circumstances, and it is stretching credulity for anyone to suggest that members' opinions are censored.

The odd statement of fact may be removed, either for confidentiality reasons or to protect against a defamation action, but opinions are not censored.

Well that coming from someone who hasn't ever expressed a view of note, is slightly bizarre. :-k

I personally think the site is correct, if nidge has broken rules of privacy, he deserves what he has got, still I'll miss him

I dont particuarly care what has occured on other sites, perhaps it should be treated as water under the bridge. Some of the namecalling is getting a little out of hand. If you dont agree then surely saying such will suffice.

regards

Captain cab

which Local Authority was it?

at a guess it was Mansfield, got to say it was disgracefull to have repeatedly on site such things said as was said about those councillors

and I said so at the time.

That could well be true, and I understand why you got the hump the other day when GA adapted a quote from you.

So why then berate Alex for defending why members like you get the hump?
