So the bloke tried to smoke in the car then carried out that horrific attack

1st there should have been a massive fine for the smoking offence
2nd why wasn't the second passenger put on trial
3rd I think the above posts are right the judge must have been in the same lodge as the either the prison guard or the brother that has to be the lightest sentence of all time !

If it had been the other way round the cabbie would have got 5 years !

Surely the sentance can be appealed? If not a civil action raised. Raising the press coverage to national level would start the ball rolling surely? Something has to be done to bring him to book, masonic brother or not.

Dear Mr *******

Thank you for your email

As you may know, the Attorney General has the power, under section 36 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988, to refer to the Court of Appeal a sentence passed in the Crown Court for review which appears to him to be an unduly lenient sentence. This power only applies to sentences imposed for certain serious offences. If the sentence is for an offence which falls within the scheme, the Attorney General's power to refer is subject to a strict 28 day time limit from the date that the sentence was passed.

In this case, Graeme Dougherty was sentenced for causing Actual Bodily Harm. This is not one of the offences to which the scheme applies and there is therefore no possibility that the Attorney General can seek to refer the sentence to the Court of Appeal for review

I realise that my reply will be disappointing for you but I hope at least that this explanation has been helpful.

Should you wish to make a complaint about the judge you should contact the Office for Judicial Complaints at the following address:

Yours sincerely,

Jeffrey Care

You can't be sent to prison for a civil action.

This should be taken a lot further.

Private prosecution for compensation, damages and loss of earnings, letter to the Prison Authorities asking questions as to whether he is 'fit and proper' to hold such a post, letter to the Home Office, etc.

This stinks.

I suspect he got suspended when he first appeared in court.
