I am sure it's of great comfort to the council, knowing that Longshanks, Dougie and Co. are as every bit as stupid as they make out. In fact, as far as the taxi trade goes in the City of Tram...pton, (get it longshanks) they are the rule and not the exception. :)

Doesn't it make you wonder how we ended up working for idiot councillors, alongside er*eholes like Longshanks and Dougie Smith?

I know life isn't fair, but come on, what the feck did we do to deserve this?

The scary thing is, they have absolutely no idea how dumb they really are, and what is more. They are perfectly programmed to carry out instructions. Their capacity to think almost non-existent. The result, compliant and obedient workers there to protect the system.

Dalek voice: "I - am - a - taxi - driver - look - at - my - little - plate - and - badge. I - do - what - I - am - told"

The trams could be knocked dead yet....I read that the German Contractors have a "Drop dead" clause written into their contract which they can use as from the 1st of September.

If they Chose that option they can walk away with all the Money they would have made from the tram project...I think it was around £250 Million and thats it, be a daft Contractor who opted to work for that money when it would be handed to them on a plate anyway.

The Council has 6 days to sort something out.

It was all in the Scottish Daily Mail but i cant find the papers story online.

Listen, who the F***, wants a Tram, travelling from Haymarket, to the F***** Airport? No C*** would end up using the f****** thing. You'd be better off travelling by bus or taxi, simply because you wouldn't have to stop at the Haymarket to get the F****** Tram.

These people are ar******. http://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/councillors/name

I know, you should never judge a book by its cover but have a closer look. You don't need a big red nose or a squirty flower to know they are f******idiots.

Take a look and ask yourself a question, what do they all have in common? Apart from the fact, they are all councillors.

Why are they so obsessed by the Tram servicing only the Airport? Any right thinking parents wouldnt be likely to lug their 3 Kids and Luggage 2 miles to the Tram even if it were the complete tram network. they'd hop on a Bus or get in a Taxi..and once there they'd take it all the way to the airport because it,d be as cheap as the Tram anyway but a whole lot less inconvenient to stay on one Mode of transport rather than bugger about between Taxi and Tram..

Nor would they walk to Miles to get a tram a few hundred yards to where they want to be, even then it would still only drop you off on route and tough [edited by admin] if where you want to be is not on the tram route in the first place.

Who Voted in these Tram loving freaks in the first place, I dont think I have met one person yet who has wanted the trams, so how come those that never wanted them voted in people who apparently couldnt live without the Trams..seems kinda odd to me.

This was an entirely council inspired plot and their attempt at creating a city in their own image. I think in truth. They simply reflect their electorate, ignorant, stupid and gullible, and what's more they believe their own hype. It would have been a huge surprise to everyone, especially after the parliament debacle, had everything worked out swimmingly. The fact is, no one will lose their pension or go to prison for the millions they've wasted, and a lot of people have made a bundle out of the project's failure. It's a win, win situation if you happen to be a Councillor, consultant, contractor or a lawyer, even if it's a complete cock-up. What's the worst thing that can happen, you become unelected with a fat pension? You then pick- up, a little job working for those you've been throwing the public's' money at for years.

What you are witnessing now is Machiavellian politics at its best. They are all giving it large pointing the fingers of blame and loving every minute of it.

It's not like you have a political system with real accountability, no one is forced to care when it blows up in the public's face. :-|

I just hope the government now scraps the Waverly line that's another white elephant so far £250 Mil and counting
Its to go from Tweedbank Gala Stow Nuton Dalkeith Newcraighall then wait 15 to 20 mins to get into Waverly
The bus takes around 1 hour 15 and gets you right into the centre
The bus is around £7.00 or free with a bus pass, the train will be around £14 so where is the logic in that

Its Unstoppable Skip....at least 10 important sanctimonious city commuters want the waverly line so the other 99,990 borderers will just have to cough up and cave in to their not unreasonable demands #-o
