My Dear Cypher,
Whats with the sarcasm? I said I would get back with the details when I had it, until then I will not go on hearsay.
You have the ear of every licensing Authority in the country so perhaps you can let us know what you know.
So if you don't mind, stick with your craven anonymity. Or perhaps if you want to step into the light you know where I am and who I am so do not snipe come and see me.
Yours
A fervent admirer.

With you working the Airport I thought it may have been a formality in finding out what the SP was regarding Lancaster. Perhaps nobody went, that might explain the absense of any information.

Tulsa,
Thanks for that. We are waiting for her reasoning not the headlines, plying for hire, instant on street bookings, etc are in her mind not sufficient to call for an inquiry. I would ask then what is? She made a mistake about the collision between a bus and a cab by the way, our guy was in his private car. He was run off the road on the motorway at high speed, it was not a an argument between a cab and bus, the bus driver did not know he was a cab driver.
As a matter of interest Mr Pelly acting on behalf of our friends is also advisor to the Commissioners.

Its very easy to make such serious allegations, however rather than smell bring forward concrete evidence or withdraw that remark.

I doubt very much that commissioners would employ consultants.

if a solicitor or a Barisrer at law did a job for the commissioners and acted say for me in a case, would you say that smelt of brown enverlopes?

by the way, a bus can take immidiate hirings, and many in this country do.

now I dont like the commissioners reasonings any more than you do but for [edited by admin] sake grow up, and stop calling her corrupt, you could lose your livelyhood.

I'm not so sure that's a valid view.

The hearing was open to all, the outcome was feared by some, and the decision is open to all to refer to the Courts.

I hope it does get referred by some, not because I believe that corruption will be discovered, but because I think the trade has been dealt a poor hand. But that hand has been dealt by the law, not by the commissioner.

In simple terms what I am saying is this :

These guys came to Manchester Airport without any tendering process.

Local companies who are far better placed to do the job were not given any opportunity to operate a ''legal'' private hire or taxi (H/C) business.
Instead we have ''mates'' of a director at the Airport operating a ''hire for reward'' business misusing a bus licence bypassing all requirements which other drivers/operators have to meet.
There was evidence of ''touting'' for work.
This is a CRIMINAL offence !
But, its okay.
Well, guys I challenge any of you to do it.
The powers that be will come down on you like a ton of bricks.
But then when we have a govt that ''spins'' everything its a case of who you know not what you know.
''Brown Envelopes'' ?
Well, just look at some of the failed politicians in cosy jobs...........
Chris Patten..............commisioner in Europe
Neil Kinnock and his wife..............on 200k tax free per year.
Ex tory health minister working for a large pharmacy co
etc etc.........
Yes, you are right I might lose my livelihood !
Or they might send me to Brussels !!

Dont forget about the new privately owned railways getting more public money now than when owned by the public.

(if your gonna rant, rant properly  )
