Gary, over 30 years ago I was stabbed, was in intensive care for over a week, long story short, survived.
20 years ago I was hit by a motorbike, and 11 operations & 3 years later, was fit enough to make a fool o' masel on a golf course. I was in a wheelchair for a long time, and used crutches and a walking stick for years. I class myself as being lucky. I was fortunate enough to have the best Orthapaedic/Plastic Surgeons and Nursing Staff in the World help me get better. (no tae' mention the wee auxillary women that made me cups o' tea at 3 & 4 in the mornin') I also have Family and friends that are second to none. However, the person that played the biggest part in my recovery was, me. That's not being arrogant or unappreciative of the help I got from others, ( I got loads). I consciously made an effort to think positively, still do, and appreciate the things I have and can do, rather than moaning about the things that are wrong. I Am totally aware that there are people out there that have had it far tougher than me, as I said, I feel lucky. For you though Gary, am' afraid that the glass will always be half empty.

You may be fortunate.

We're not.

You don't moan, glass half full?

You're obvuiously not a cabbie then.

#-o

But the sad thing is that your puerile tripe only serves to do one thing.

You've proved the Skull spot on when he says that you being servile means that nothing changes. And your gut wrenching servility just makes it harder for those of us who are hacked off being put down by feckwits who lord it over folks because they think election to the band of brigands gives them the right to. Where's the "fairplay" in that?

You getting any of this yet?

I don't exactly know, but something has or there wouldn't be any chat on the matter, you called him a grass so there's obviously something brewing.

Thx for the welcome

I don't think I'll be trying to educate you on anything further, and like I said I've no desire to go back to the slanging matches 8) :)

nothing has happened, just a a teapot who no matter how much evidence is put before him denies it full stop,a more blinkered delusional individual you are never likely to meet than dougie.
a man who's ideas and theories are seemingly the talk of Westminster and hollyrood.
a man who thinks the system works in reverse with the courts making judgments and then the council doing the opposite as they have the last say and everything is up to them

i never really accused fairplay of being a grass i was just reiterating what he had said in a previous post where he basically said he had put somit in motion when he intimated that i should be expecting some bad news,he now denies this and i believe him, just a trouble maker with a big mouth and little grasp of the truth.

A number of years ago, I picked up a black guy on Lothian road just beyond the Caley Box rank. He'd been trying to flag down taxis but only too close to the rank. This guy was as black as the ace of spades, wearing a black overcoat dark trousers and black shoes. The minute his backside hit the seat it was a race issue. Taxi drivers had been driving passed, because he was black. I pointed out that this taxi driver had just picked him up, and that my skin was black. I asked him where he wanted me to drive his white ar*e. To say he was shocked by my response was an understatement, and it took him a moment to gather himself. His next retort was that I was taking nonsense, and that I was white. I replied, in this country. The colour of your skin is determined by your social status, and as a taxi driver. It would be very difficult for me to pull the race card on him because no one would listen, the law, on this occasion afforded him diplomatic immunity. Therefore, my skin was much darker than his. I then pointed out his close proximity to the rank and explained the rule, not to pick up within 50 yards, of people queuing on a rank.

We had an in-depth discussion about race and religion all the way to his destination. He even offered to take me out for a meal as an apology for his conduct. I think he was thoroughly embarrassed.

Which brings me to the moral of the story, ignorance is not a colour but a state of mind. :-|

Aww...., what lovely story Gary. Tell me, did you and the guy go for dinner ?. Was it candlelit ?. The Movies pehaps ?. A nightclub ?. I sincerely hope the two of you have kept in touch.
To think, all this time I thought you were nothing but a carpetbagging piece of scum, turns out you're a Battyboy !.

P.s. Don't want to be racist but a' hope you were the "Pitcher" Gary. (you know what they say).

John, do you think there was a time when your mind was your own? It must be tough to be so enured by the system your capacity to think never really had a chance to develop. I don't suppose a moment's introspection was ever a possibility in the little world of John, the taxi driver.

I suspect your, “what's wrong with this picture” moment never really happened.

I do feel sorry for you John, if that's what you are looking for. You might not "think it" but you do have a choice to challenge all what you were programmed to believe, even at your age. :-| It won't be easy though and might not be good for your mental health.

A' like, The VIZ, and even if a' say so ma'sel, am' quite an authority on Oor Wullie and The Broons. ie, did you know that Horace wis' actually, adopted ? Daphine was his real Ma' but back in they days, well, shame/stigma aw' that. Anyway, any tips would be really appreciated mate. However if I find oot' you've been reading any Salinger stuff, a couple o' Rottweilers will be added to the CCTV and the Moat !.

Introspection John, is the contemplation of your own thoughts, desires and conduct. You should question the way you think what you believe and why. Are you being subjective or objective in your perspective of reality?

Take racism, for instance, is it innate or is it established through conditioning and learning? Did you conform to the beliefs of your parents and social group, or did you develop your own thoughts and opinions, without a partially that prevents objective consideration?

Our social conditioning is a large part of who we are but that doesn't mean. We have to give into it without question? Are your thoughts your own or where they put there a long time ago and now, all you do is to repeat the program?

I'm afraid I couldn't recommend any books on reprogramming but there is plenty literature on de-programming, try google. :-|

Free your mind and your ars* will follow.

What age are you John. I bet all this time you believed your thoughts were your own and not simply a process of indoctrination. It's probably a bit late in the game to start asking questions now, but you never know.
